Trust Yourself?

Read Psalms 49

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” – Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust is a very treasured thing. We all want trust in relationships, but few of us actually trust others. We trust only ourselves to get what we need, or provide emotional or financial security.

Most Christians even lack trust in God, choosing to fear things like poverty, weather, friendships, and more.

Trusting only in yourself is one of the most dangerous things you can do. You are a flawed human who will fail yourself. This trust leads to depression.

God is perfect. Trusting in him will never lead to disappointment. What can you let go and trust to God?

“People, despite their wealth, do not endure; they are like the beasts that perish. This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings.” – Psalms 49:12-13
