Once we learned how to fall, and how to get close, the next step was to support their weight. If you are going to take someone’s balance, but want them to fall in a safe manner, you have to keep them from falling immediately.
In our walk with Christ, we must support each other’s weight, or carry each other’s burden.
Galatians 6:2 ESV
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
When I first began Judo, I was dangerous to my partners, everyone is. You can teach the mechanics of a throw, but finesse comes through practice. We usually don’t support the weight and our partners end up falling hard.
In a walk with Christ, we are dangerous to ourselves and others. We don’t support each other and end up isolating ourselves. This is why you must get close, so that you know how best to support each other.
1 Timothy 5:8 ESV
But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
