1 Peter 3:15 ESV
but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
In the midst of a throw, if your technique is not perfect (in my experience it rarely is) you must be prepared for counters. A bit too much space between you and your partner will result in them being able to block you and at a time when you can easily be thrown or submitted.
The same is true of a walk with Christ. I often find myself having to defend my faith, sometimes to other people, but usually to myself. In wanting what I want, I rationalize ways to get what it is I want, and I marginalize my sin. My biggest enemy is not my environment, and truthfully, it is not the existance of sin. It is my own sinful nature, and I am in a constant grappling match with sin.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 ESV
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.
