Read Psalms 86
In college, our campus ministry did a program called Evangelism Explosion. We went through several days training and had a binder full of scripture and other materials.
At the end of training, we went to several houses and asked a two part question to open a dialogue.
“Are you going to Heaven? How do you know?”
The number 1 answer was, “I ain’t never killed nobody.” The number 2 answer, however, was much more disheartening.
Several people were so overwhelmed with their sin that they felt unworthy to accept God’s grace and mercy. They refused to believe or grasp that God had an unfailing love that could forgive anything they ever did.
Third Day has a song that reminds me what I wanted so desperately to tell these people.
“Cry Out To Jesus”
Just call on God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit. Our God is an awesome God. He is slow to anger and quick to forgive. His love is as infinite as He is, and all he requires is a call. All anyone has to do is call on His name.
Are you ready to call? Do you know someone who needs to call?God doesn’t mind, in fact he encourages you to share his contact information.
Cry out to Jesus.
“You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.” – Psalms 86:5
