Read Ecclesiastes 11:7-10
“I’ll change tomorrow.”
Sound familiar? It does to me. I’ve said it hundreds of times.
I’ve always thought I’d live to at least 60 or 70 years old, so I had time. Shortly into college, I started feeling mortality as schoolmates started dying.
It hasn’t stopped. I learn of more and more people dying young, and people my age, in their 30s are having heart attacks and strokes. We brave traffic every day, a death race to and from work.
I chased many things: money, fame, popularity. It was like chasing the wind. The closer I felt I got, the further it moved.
There may be no tomorrow. Only God knows the number of my days. Today is yesterday’s tomorrow. Today is the day to change. Don’t waste your youth chasing the wind. Chase after God and you will find every fortune in His love and His mercy. You will lose interest in fame, and will not need to be popular as Jesus gives you all the attention you need.
“You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.” – Ecclesiastes 11:9
