Read Psalms 46
“We’re just too busy…”
We’ve all said it. It’s our fault we are too busy. Before my time, I have heard stories of families doing sports with their kids, having time for homework, and still going to church on Sunday and Wednesday.
When I started taking martial arts, I would attend every class I could. I devoted myself to it and lost nearly 50 pounds. I would come home in time to tell my daughter good night, spend a few minutes with my wife, then head to bed to do it again the next day.
Then I cut it down to three classes a week to spend a couple of days with the family. This cured the family dynamic, but did nothing for God.
Then, I went to a maximum of two classes a week. I was still progressing towards my goals, and I was making time for Bible study one day a week. This still was not enough.
Now I spend every morning reading God’s Word and writing these devotionals. I cannot explain how much good it has done my life.
Do you spend enough time with God? Is there any daily event you could sacrifice to spend more time with Him?
“He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'” – Psalms 46:10
