Read Matthew 18:21-35
How often should we forgive someone who does us wrong? How many times are we expected to forgive someone who repeatedly sins against us?
Peter asked Jesus this very question. He had the idea that 7 was the magic number.
Jesus told him not 7, but 77 times. I don’t believe 77 is the magic number either. Jesus was illustrating whatever you think the number of times to forgive someone is, multiply that by 11.
Jesus took all of your sin on himself so that you may be presented as pure before God. Surely you can forgive someone 77 times for their transgressions. How many times has Jesus forgiven you?
‘Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.’ – Matthew 18:21-22
